IMHO we lose on volume due to shorting of the stock. Then after we start climbing the shorts cover. After the shorts cover the volume slows but IFLY is at a higher price. I believe the base at 6 surprised the shorts. I don't think they felt it would be that strong.

As for shorting the stock: If a lot of people try shorting the stock you get a sharp runup once the stock starts going back up. So the question would be could you buy the stock back at a lower price than you sold it at??? Actually the shorting is helpful. It slows the advance but the shorts have to buy the stock back. If the price is too high the shorts make money. If they guess wrong they lose money.
