Leonardo,

The consumer electronics companies, such as Sony, LG, etc.
interested in Apple are not really a news if you follow Apple more than
a couple of years. The same news repeats at least once a year.
Why does Apple need to be bought out at this juncture? Well, the
same question can be asked: why does DEC need to be acquired?
DEC has been in the black for at least a year before sold to Compaq.
I think there is still a possibility that Apple be bought by other bigger
firms, similar to DEC. However, it has nothing to do with Jobs' interim
title. Which companies have interests in education, publishing,
and science/engineering fields where Apple has strong hold?
IBM, Sun, Sony, Disney, HP, Compaq or Microsoft? If it were acquired,
the acquiring company might be everybody's guess.

Without any buyout, Apple still can enjoy revenue/net income
growth for years to come. This is the only precious pc company
left to be jealous and focused.

Phil
