Company announcement : Turbodyne Receives National TV Recognition on Earth Day TURBODYNE RECEIVES NATIONAL TV RECOGNITION ON EARTH DAY
Woodland Hills, Ca - April 24, 1998 -- Turbodyne Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:TRBDF, EASDAQ:TRBD) was featured on Earth Day in the nationally televised "Cavuto Business Report" on the Fox News Channel, a 24-hour cable news network. The feature, which followed a clip of President Clinton's Earth Day speech, highlighted the environmental benefits of the company's breakthrough Turbopac~ product, which substantially reduces harmful emissions and virtually eliminates black diesel exhaust smoke.
"We've been through the information age, now we're entering the environmental age", Turbodyne CEO Walter Ware said during the interview with the show's host, Neil Cavuto. "There's a huge global awareness of our environment and peoples' responsibility to do something about it." (A complete transcript of the interview is posted on Turbodyne's web site: www.turbodyne.com).
"The United States emits 23 percent of the world's carbon dioxide, 85 percent of which comes from burning fossil fuels," Ware said. "A unique benefit of Turbopac~ technology is that carbon dioxide, the primary contributor to global warming, is reduced in direct proportion to the reduction in fuel burned. This directly addresses President Clinton's challenge Wednesday to industry to reduce greenhouse gases while contributing to economic growth."
The Turbopac~ is widely recognized as the only anti-pollution product that provides a financial payback to the user through substantially improving fuel economy and performance. It is an electronic supercharger that supplies increased airflow during acceleration to optimize the fuel/air ratio. This facilitates more efficient combustion thereby reducing emissions and fuel consumption, and improving engine power and vehicle performance.
Turbodyne's Turbopac~ recently received official certification as an approved emission reduction system from the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Transit operators, in compliance with requirements of the Urban Bus Retrofit/Rebuild Program, are currently using it. The Turbopac~ is the only cost effective means of complying with the EPA rebuild regulations.
Turbodyne Systems, the high technology division of Turbodyne, manufactures, designs, markets and develops patented pollution- reduction, fuel economy and performance enhancing technology for internal combustion engines in the automotive, transportation, construction, marine, agriculture, mining, military and power generation industries.
