GP,

I couldn't agree more about you reasoning. as I have commented in past posts on this thread, if the users of the laser equipment do not have to pay the users fee, this will reduce the cost of the procedure. This reduced cost will be bring in more patients resulting in higher profits for the provider.

Also, as you have stated, the profit of BEAM and VISX will suffer as a result of the pending litigation and potential loss of the user fee. One other factor to consider is that the laser equipment manufacturer can only build so many machines to be sold or leased. This number will decline as the Eye Care Providers become fully equipped with the machines. However, as the costs come down and the successful treatments become more widely known and accepted, the profit potential for the eye care provided will increase dramatically.

So whether or not one chooses LCAV, LVCI, LASE, or one of the many others, they should all do well. My bet is on LCAV!!!

Harry
