One year ago, I started this thread because there were issues for the group that better indicated the future of the individuals. It was getting crazy going from thread to thread trying to piece it all together. At the time, we had a good start on the thread and made some money.

3000+ posts later, it's turned out to be a very useful tool to me and I hope for you all.

Well, it's still happening. Quantum just reported earnings and nobody is saying anything. In fact, it looks like we are seeing a BOTTOM being reported??? Quantum has cut inventory in the channel to 5 weeks and 3 weeks in house. This seems very to be good news.

Yesterday, WDC was one of the most active options. They are up today and they've been trending up for a while. Is there a turn around developing here? SEG was also up. What's the inventory situation here? Anybody got any figures on the channel for these guys? Have we made any improvements on the channel as a whole?

Component suppliers Hutchinson and Innovex seem to be indicating a bottom in demand. Will we see anything coming their way in the near term? Head and media is still a mess, or will we see some ground gained here.

Is the pricing pressure on the high end easing?

All in all, I think we've missed the bottom here on all these stocks. Perhaps knowledge of how bad things are/were has kept us out while others were buying when things didn't seem like they could get worse.

Lawrence Kam is still asking where's the money? And maybe the lack of earnings and predictions of flat growth is not enough to warrant investing in this group. Maybe it's better to go off and buy better companies, but there is some wisdom to sticking with what you know. It certainly doesn't seem to be a good bet to short these companies.

So, my friends, who's going to make some predictions and bring some power back into this thread?

Regards,

Mark
