Don,
There is a very big difference between INTC and MSFT buying back their shares, and IBM's stock buy back program. Intel & MSFT are consistently growing revenues, (year over year), but IBM is buying their stock back in order to distort earnings and to make it appear as if they were growing. Take a look at what these companies Shareholder's Equity is doing over the last 18 months and you will see what I mean.
