Are you sure you can trade options in an IRA? that definitely doesn't sound correct. It could just be a glitch in their system. You may invalidate your IRA and be forced to pay penalties. E*Trade had a glitch that allowed me to margin trade my IRA a while back and it ended up screwing up the account. A couple of reverse transactions, heated arguments, funky accounting corrections and major migraines ensued. In fact, I'll be transferring that IRA into a Roth this year and have my fingers crossed that it doesn't kick off an IRS audit.
