Synergistic mergers my friend. QWST (thru LCI) is all over Asia advertising their LD rates. They've got to bring in those competitors into their fold to grow bigger as fast as they can. JC is working hard to make DGIV a force to reckon with. Look at this news. AT&T is also gearing up for the fight. * AT&T CORP CEO C. Michael Armstrong said the company will invest more than $300 million this year to improve its Internet backbone capacity. "We have made a decision to go after more of the Internet Protocol (IP) backbone. We will invest incrementally in our IP backbone capacity this year, over $300 million," Armstrong told analysts in a conference call following the company's 1Q earnings report. "We do think this is a growth opportunity and will enhance our position in this fast-growing segment of the industry," he said.
