Sorry for the delay... Vuggy silica is essentially quartz recrystallized from the silica residue of extensive acid leaching of the host rock by acidic hydrothermal fluids. The vugs are the holes left after acid soluble minerals are leached out. The porosity caused makes vuggy silica an excellent potential host rock for gold deposition from later gold bearing fluids. BTW, drilling is continuing on the Caballo Blanco for another 2 weeks during which samples are being sent to the lab for analysis. Regards Tom
