Your problems with icons etc with OT are, IMHO, endemic to w95 and ALL software, especially 16 bit. But it will not go away in 32 bit versions. The problem is more to do with the registry, AND API calls involving video cards, AND strange interactions with internet crashes etc.

Save your profiles in a subdirectory, just copy them into the new directory, and then when you can't restore your settings in OT, just unistall and reinstall. Then you can reuse the saved profiles.

I have these problems in all kinds of other software. The niche market software has the worst problems. OT is flukey, but not worse than others.
