Valueman is actually wrong on this, which is surprising. He is describing a customary practice in the London market. Customary in that it is generlly written into company bylaws. In fact, it may be the default legal or stock exchange rules provision over there.

Not here. And yes, I am sure. I am not sure that Loral does not have such a provision in its charter or bylaws, but it would be very unusual in the US of A.

Now, as a practical matter, big institutional holders probably are solicited by underwriters w/respect to maintaining or increasing their percentage ownership post offering. Good marketing tool.

Individual holders no.
