I agree it looks weird the way MB required a deposit and put your trading on hold for several days after cash was WIRED to your account. (Recent posts concerning MB concern it allowing customers to short stocks which when none were available to MB for shorting. Whether this is true or not, bad news if true.)

DLJ-Direct did the opposite thing with me. Within a day of opening an account on line, I was extended $15,000 in trading credit.
