Adrian, you brought up another very good point. Intel refuses to license LX, BX chipsets to anyone else. Companies like VIA and SIS would have to clinch to Socket-7 or super Socket-7 chipsets in order to survive. That would complicate the analysis indeed.

As far as BX motherboards, I myself and several power users are looking forward to upgrade completely our computers. Which BX motherboard would give me the most bang for its buck in the June/July time frame?

In Hong Kong, you seem to see more Socket-7 boards, but yet other folks from Hong Kong seem to see more Slot-I boards. Could your personal account be the only correct one? I still love to see the words `will be' when you mention Legend Computers (who?) will be using K6s for their Socket-7 computers.

Compaq could not make up their mind whether to design/produce or to farm-out motherboard businesses. No wonder this company is not as profitable as their arch-competitor, Dell.
