kirk, i don't agree with a flat tax. i have a huge disdain for demicans, republicrats and everyone else making a mockery of america for their own personal gain.

the bottom line is that most people don't want a simpler tax code, they want to pay less tax. a graduated tax system is very simple. just as simple as a flat tax.

i, for one, do not want my taxes to be reduced on the backs of those that can barely afford a place to live as is. if the steve forbeses of the world pay umpteen hundreds of millions less in taxes, and we can't balance the budget with all those millions now, then who is going to pay more in tax? it won't be the steve forbeses of the world.

he is looking out for number one.

now, govt is pretty inefficient and a joke at that. if we can get those self serving politicians to make the difficult decisions and become more efficient so that not as much money needs to go to uncle sugar (the sugar part was designed by demicans and republicrats alike - they just use different forms of welfare that targets different groups) then maybe we can talk about reducing taxes.

of course, this is far too rational to ever occur.

then again, the demicans and republicrats do what will get them elected - so maybe the problem is the self serving nature of their constituents.

just my 2 cents.
