Dear Sibe: I didnt go back and review the 10K to be sure of the context it was used in. But the term Vested, generally means the conditions necessary to allow them to become exercisable (generally just time) have been met. Options dont become shares and thus into the "stock outstanding" until they are exercised. However, for purposes of calculating earnings per share they do enter into the fully dilutive earnings per share.
ALYD has had severe cash problems in the past (dont know as of today) so it doesnt surprise me that they paid small salaries and large stock options. It was likely a necessity at the time but in the long run is the most expensive way to go for a successful company. JDN
