feel quite fortunate that you have joined this thread..I have been
watching for strikes and will continue to..
although there are a lot of compliant year 2000 pcs out there, a lot
of them are hooked up to mainframes and there are a lot of auxiliary(sp) systems feeding data to mainframes so even if corporations are
year 2000 ready..they still have input possibly from others that contain the bugs..
interesting your view that the favorable taxes are more beneficial
than lower interest rate borrowing costs..and the ability for corps
to issue bonds at dirt low rates and lock those in for years...I
don't know enough to agree or disagree with you..but it is great
food for thought..
great point that Japan may extend the cycle..
really interesting view about strikes..
(in NY they are laying off more hospital workers..it is especially
interesting since with workfare..a lot of former welfare workers have
been given minimal pay and sent to work in hospitals..now with the layoffs it sounds as if unions or whatever are forcing the local
government to lay off those workfare workers..in a sense that goes
along with your view...)
