Ahhhhhhh, Patience Pays... So, Does Research...
Beyond the fact that this is yet to be confirmed--is there any BETTER news one could possibly have about SEEK? Motro IS serious and for real. This NSCP alliance, again, assuming its done-deal- ness, IS AWESOME. AT&T, eh? Could AT&T offer some sort of LD phone deal a la what some lesser provider is offering on AOL? That would be the narrowest possible interpretation. Or is AT&T going to invest in this new, for want of a better word, alliance. It's about time AT&T get out there and into the game. Or, sorry to keep throwing out questions, could AT&T weave in some new, nifty technology that could liven up the NetCenter site, something like Interactive Answer or something else?
(Incidentally, speaking of brand names, American Express will be offering free e-mail to its cardholders through what is, I think, a new site. A shrewd move for a variety of reasons--you can use that e-mail "list" as a direct marketing tool... making it an opt-in for specific categories of information or offers, etc. Also, it READS, between the lines, like American Express is going to ramp up a Web presence, leveraging a wonderful "community" they already possess. Smart, smart, smart. These guys have been the leaders--outside of Dell (and I know too much about that story)--in knowledgebase or customerbase information as the foundation for intelligent direct marketing.)
Now, back to SEEK. Another online community purchase in the making? That, too, is interesting... and fits with what I've heard through the attentuated grapevine. I might think that a gaming community would be pretty swift. (But, that's just because I have some friends who are heavy gamers.) Anyway, TAKE HEART LONGS... this thread may yet return to its genteel, though sleepy tone...
Ohhhh, it's getting sooooo fun...
