I also am long in both CPQ and Dell. I have been thinking that there is probably a point where it would make sense to get out of Dell (realize the gains) and put that into CPQ, assuming that Dell will do well during the time when CPQ and IBM are struggling with inventory, but that later, maybe in 3Q98, Dell will flatten out and CPQ will start to win because of DEC acquisition, new inventory model, and current depressed price. If there will really be a later peak for CPQ this plan would make sense, maximize the investment in the uptick in both stocks. Dell bulls assure me that the smartest thing would be put it all into Dell, or at the very least hold all the Dell I have. I have done well just holding both over the last couple of years and don't trade often. Any thoughts on this?
