>>Fred, as I understand it, all the exclusive golf clubs have 100%
coverage.>>

I've played some nice courses, but not recently or as frequently to know for sure. Pebble Beach? Played there, but don't know. All I know is there's a guy in Boston in the computer biz who has operations in the Philadelphia area who complains about golf course coverage. Marion??

Here in Chicago we're Ok. Good, wide coverage.

How about Pine Valley? That'd be a good one. Arnie, let me know if you can get on there. I'd be happy to caddy you, your clubs and your Nextel phones.

Any Nextel golf fanatics on this thread? Can someone chime in with some additional feedback on this one. Heck, Nextel should be handing out phones at every major golf course as an inducement to expand that critical holy grail of marketing - individual positive awareness or "mindshare".

What's really interesting about Nextel is that the threaded features - led by DC - don't necessarily hit home unless and until you have others on the DC network that you can talk to. Nextel is hitting all the low fruit with mobile business groups, suppliers, etc. - but there is a whole slew of other white collar individuals with small - medium and large - entrepreneurial cos. that would chomp at the bit if they knew there was a resource they could go to to create their own intercompany group DC networks. I am addressing this need bit by bit with my new company and will share the results - both good and bad - as they come in.

Nextel's Business networks strategy is still very restrictive - there are several groups, but nobody is categorizing what they are and who is on them. If you or someone would like to find out more about these groups and the individuals on them, please e-mail me for my new company can offer some information about them going forward.

Let's face it, cell phones have become commodity items and people can all to easily place Nextel in this comodity camp unless there is a prime opportunity to make DC useful NOW or in the near future. DC is really a new way of communicating which is both efficient, businesslike and certainly cost effective. It's also a fabulous networking tool, but you have to get people to come on your network.

Nextel golf buddies, where are you? We need to identify all of you. Just contact me and I'd be happy to assist.

Good luck.
