The Magic 8-Ball, when questioned, responded "Reply Hazy"... It seems like there are efforts to get people to expect a crash -- that prediction from an odd New Age free newspaper I mentioned, advice from a couple of large brokers including J.P. Morgan to cut back on stock holdings, even an article a couple of months ago in "Rolling Stone" (a rock and roll magazine). Personally, for economic reasons, I'm expecting a market collapse here, maybe this year, but 1999 at the latest. I've taken all the precautions I can over the last year or so -- paid all my debts off, put my money into cash (including money market funds), and held off making large purchases such as a new car or buying a house. So, bring on the crash! Let's get this over with already! Paul M.
