Yeah but bonds will still go south. In theory perhaps, they shouldn't, but to the extent that they ran up short term thinking that the Fed would, it may have to correct more. Stocks seem to be following bonds a lot these days so as a group, they may drop too. Not a whole lot, but just some. Who cares, it's just theory and may or may not apply since new money came in by the boatloads plus the long term trend is still bonds up, stocks up according to some analysts. Hey can the Fed drop rates by say 1/100 of a percentage point instead of these huge 1/4 numbers?

Also in theory stocks may just say enough of this following the bond market, it's like the stock market has no brain and has to follow something else. So stocks may not follow bonds. Another way to look at it is that the market is exactly where it's been after the decision since rates are exactly the same. Everythings the same, so things ought to stay the same if the idea that everything is price adjusted instantaneously according to the information at hand.
