As reported on CNBC on 04/22/98, Alex Cern from Bear Sterns mentioned Nokia Communications could be the acquisition target after Oct.1 by Lucent. That's the first time I hear LU's interest in Nokia. IMO, I don't see the good reason to buy out Nokia or Motorola. I see higher probability that LU will take over ASND or COMS.
Back to MOT, of course I will have my own indepent judgement and can't blame anyone on SI. It's disappointed that the management didn't act quick enough to response the challenge from Nokia and Ericsson. I'm betting MOT will turn around and perform better this year. I have the same gut feeling for MOT at the current price as I loaded up ASND at mid $20 four months ago. I heard lots of piss-off on ASND then, but few months later every analyst is upgrading that dog. I maybe wrong, but time will tell. I predict MOT will back to $80 by December. We're all here to make money. Good luck to your investment.
