Am extremely happy with the mobo, chipset features, and very impressed with the immediate responses from FIC to my questions; they even admitted a week ago to me that I should wait at least a month or more to buy the VA-503+, if I wanted to be sure the 100mhz bus speed was stable. I have a friend who has the R581A (yes SIS chipset), and he has had an Intel 200mmx oc'd at 83 mhz (and whatever multiplier, no change in voltage), running at 250mhz for almost a month with nary a hiccup. He has not tried going any further, YET. I believe it also has CPU temp and voltage monitor (think this is standard but not sure--might be optional, as it was on my mobo). I believe he paid ~$105 for mobo. IMHO, if you want to buy now, get the R581A. If you are willing to wait a month or two, it appears that you will have a much larger selection of Super Socket 7 mobos, and probably some solid reviews at the 100mhz speed. --Randy |
