Pat, Yes, Amati is a curiously unique stock. And with Soros, even curiouser. I just picked up his "The Alchemy of Finance". I sniffed the pages and still don't understand anything. I don't think I'll ever read it. The dust jacket says "Central to Soros's philosophy is his 'theory of reflexivity,' a revolutionary approach to understanding market trends that puts the lie to the 'random walk' by taking investor biases as its starting point. In a radical departure from the prevailing wisdom, he argues that, in certain cases, the market participant's bias influences not only market prices but also the fundamentals that market prices are supposed to reflect." Well, let's see. By departing from prevailing wisdom I'm changing market fundamentals. I feel an integral part of Soros's theory! Hope he's not taking me for a walk! RE: Ascend article. I've read Sonet has bright future. I'm not qualified to apprise of prospects. I noted BT had ATM for its VDSL. Cheers, Steve
