The entire IPM affair has been a thoroughly classless exercise, encompassing the criminal, the arrogant, the foolish, and the unpleasant. Mr. H's behavior is merely a particularly virulent form of the unwillingness either to recognize the reality of the situation or to act on that reality. I plead guilty to the latter, since my posts during 1997 incontrovertibly show I had an inkling of the reality of Furlong's dubious pedigree and IPM's incriminating silence. Whether due to a lack of discipline, a willingness to follow the crowd, or the grotesque cloddishness of the anti-IPM crowd, I found myself where many of us did on Black Friday. At least I'm out now.
