bp, I think it is an excellent idea to get recommendations on "everyday" wines. For me, an everyday wine - by my definition, two, possibly three a week, should come in under $10 a bottle. This is my Stateside definition -Europeans would feel "deprived" with such a limitation on consumption.

Anyway, I have bought, and tasted on several occasions, a 1995 Regaleali. This is a Sicilian wine. It is their red wine I am speaking of , but Robert Parker has good things to say about their whites. Cost me $9 a bottle at Sherry-Lehmann in NYC, so if available elsewhere shouldn't cost more than that. I offer this as my humble recommendation.

Also would recommend Spanish Rioja, the 1994 vintages. Best to ask your reputable wine merchants for recommendation. They are generally very honest in their recommendations. Bottles costing between $8 and $10 should prove satisfactory for "everyday" consumption.

Would appreciate any specific recommendations on any wines in the sub $10 price range.
