Tastes Like Chicken: <<As soon as they provide a fix, they become liable for massive class action suits by more than eager attorneys.>>
"They" does not refer to CSHK. "They" means the software companies that wrote and sold the defective software that CSHK intends to find and provide a fix for. If a company is damaged by the defects in some way, it seems to me that the software company that created the defects could be found liable. By providing a patch, it seems to me that the software company is also providing an admission that its software has defects. This admission could open the door to massive class action lawsuits by more than eager attorneys. Hopes this helps explain. I see CSHK as our allies that will help us force the software companies into making a decision to provide a patch and bite what ever bullet that might be out there. The reason I say all this is I have not noticed any of the software companies that sold me the software notifying me of any patches. Has any one??? Why??? All this IMHO and is pure speculation. There could be other reasons for their delay in admitting their Y2K defects.
