But I thought the story suggested that one had to be either blind or deaf really to enjoy gambling, either at Vegas or on the stock market. But that doesn't seem right, because most investors aren't blind or deaf, I don't think. I believe those people buy mutual funds anyway.

But why did the guy who was BOTH blind and deaf go to Caesar's Palace in the first place, if he hated it? Is Caesar's Palace well-equipped to accommodate the seriously handicapped?

This is a very complicated story. Maybe I haven't explored all the possible meanings.
