Are there any solutions?

I wondered many years ago why there weren't unions for engineers, and was told that unions were only for blue-collar workers, and not for people earning high salaries. However, airline pilots have a union, and they are white-collar, high wage earners.

Of course, many unions have been weakened over the past few decades, because of internal corruption and Reagan's firing of the air-traffic controllers, but sometimes I still wish there were unions for engineers, programmers, etc. The first thing they should do would be to stop the practice of bringing in unqualified people from Bangladesh and paying them minimum wage.
