Vpelt,

I hope your estimate is as bad as it gets but some estimates of just our own government problems could make it far worse than what you are indicating. Not that we can do a whole lot about the Y2K problem but what you are already planning for.

If the US Treasury Dept is out for any period of time I believe that that means there will be no Social Security checks and if on top of that there are no Welfare checks or Food Stamps being sent out then that puts millions of people in jeopardy of not having income. Just the social ramifications of that are tremendous. LA riots may look like an outdoor picnic compared to the problems that will occur. And on and on and on. Defense, Treasury, HUD, IRS etc etc. And that is just the US.

Personally, if the shorts are right and I lose money with Y2K stocks then so be it. That would be better than the nightmare problems I am anticipating. I hope they are right and there are no problems. But if they are wrong and I lose money because of them then I will be ticked off. Really ticked.

I believe that the warnings of problems are not overstated. The senerio is similar to a Hurricane Warning. You have plenty of time to prepare for a disaster by getting supplies etc. I just hope this disaster changes course like hurricanes do.

Shorts, you have been warned.

Long on TAVA and other Y2K stocks....... long on Y2K changing life as we know it for at least a short period of time.
