Dear David,
<<Jesus is the Peace of Israel, not of the earth.>>
Here are some verses that promise the peaceful rule of the Branch of Jesse, the Messiah. Isaiah 11:6 The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the yearling together and a little child will lead them. 7 The cow will feed the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. 8 The infant will play near the hole of the cobra, and the young child put his hand unto the vipers nest. 9 They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain for the EARTH will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. 10 In that day the root of Jesse (Jesus) Will stand as a banner for the peoples; The nations will rally to Him and His place of rest will be glorious. 12 He will raise a banner for the nations and gather the exiles of Israel, He will assemble the scattered people of Judah from the four corners of the earth. 13 Ephraims (Arabs) jealousy will vanish, and Judahs enemies WILL BE CUT OFF, Ephraim will not be jealous of Judah nor Judah hostile toward Ephraim.
These verses are a few prophecies of the earthly Peacefull Messianic Kingdom. I don't think all of these have or are being fulfilled and are still prophetic to His return. Also, you might note that the Nations are mentioned seperate from Israel and Judah. This makes the application of the verses to the Church alone a difficult. I pray we all have a day of closeness to Him and dwell in the shadow of His wings, Nancy |
