If it was easier t always develop your own technology than there would never be any aquisitions. Companies aquire other companies because of their perceived value in terms of technical expertise, management.... as well as current market share and revenues. While I do agree that Netscape is currently the main gateway to the internet, they are far away from providing their own high powered serach engine. Netscape wants to be an INSTANT FORCE. Contracts are expiring and in my opinion they need to act fast. What is the perceived value of SEEK. You cant put a price tag on Motro. The man is a genius. I believe the competition fears him greatly! Management is a proven entity! They are building market share at a warp speed rate and revenues are growing faster than Yahoo's. I dont know if SEEK will partner up with Netscape or not. I'm not so sure Motro even has this on his agenda. Harry's plan is to become #1 and I personally believe that he will accomplish this----- with or without Netscape!
