Gary & FoF: If everyone understood the true infancy of VoIP, I think all including myself would be more patient.
When looking at the WCOM contract, I try to remember this unfolding book is more than just a flimsy short story out of reads digest. I try to keep everything to-basic-thought in understanding why we haven't heard more from contracts such as these.

If you take the WCOM-MCI deal and all the problems they are up against in this merger, how hush would you be in keeping telephony out of the same picture?
If the Frankin/WCOM deal is ongoing, continuos (with dates, demands, follow ups & forward-looking proposals into the next 5 to 10 years, how much WOULD you be able to release to the competition?
I see articles on SI where someone finds web pages on companies buying the Tempest. Ever wonder why news hasn't been put out on these articles found? A sale is a sale, unless you know Frank well enough to understand that even a hint to the street is way to much until the appropriate time on what the big picture shows. We must remember that Frank can be a real ass when it comes to technology leaks. ggg Joking

Yea I'm also disheartened about the stock price, but remember that Franklin along with 90% of the IP companies have just gotten underway. Can anyone tell me how long Franklin has been full-tilt in IP? Frank made the statement when? Not that long ago folks.........!
Others may be forming smaller alliances, and very interesting tidbits, but few are the New or Next-Generation of Telco's of the industry. Does anyone really know the full impact of what it means to be listed as the NexGenTelco? pi.se Under NextGenTelco's
Speaking of the NexGen, I think Franklin is looking far ahead when taking into consideration the phone systems of tomorrow. Look at your PC, and price's now @ $ 2,000 verses what they were 6 years ago. Then look at the phone systems of tomorrow, "if all phone systems ran on PC platforms", they'd be much cheaper, allot more powerful, and have more accessible features. More software base, and less hardware = savings.
That's another reason why were seeing articles on ISP's getting into telephony, lower capital costs which is relating to lower maintainence costs, where some will be linked with the NexGeneration Telco's like FNet.

Its interesting to find a NexGenPhone that pulls analog dialtone out of proprietary PBX and key system extensions. It allows you to make data and fax calls without running analog lines in from afar. They drag one analog line out of a digital circuit, making the digital line dead while your making the analog call.
