"the nasdaq is nothing more than supply and demand. a mm may be a large seller and have no buyers. so he hits the bids(sells stk to other mm's) . he then goes low offering. if anyone tries to bid him or soes him they will be filled until his sell order is complete. what is hard about being a mm is having to compete with volume. say i am a large seller and nothing is going on and then 75,000 shares prints. my customer is going to demand a print on something regardless if i made any sales or not. if we do not protect our customers on volume then they do not need us. they might as well just play on instinet themselves. cp"

This sure sounds a lot like Dave Block talking, not any MM I know...
