Let's probe some more while we're at it.

What is the difference between #2 and #1 diesel?

We know the cetane standard is far exceeded. Why is it still called #2? Can it be made #1 with filtering? Is that filtering still necessary with the pulling of the sulfur standard? Probing minds want to know. The following is Marty's post about the pulling of the sulfur standard.

++++++++++

"Hey I just heard that EPA has pulled the sulfur standard for diesel.
Petavesa (the Venuzulan Oil Co.) went to the WTO and argued that the
EPA's sulfur in diesel reg. was a defacto trade barrier. Apparently,
EPA did not choose to argue their case and has recently withdrawn the
sulfur standard. For GRNO this means their diesel can go directly to the
higher price market without addition of the new clay treatment step. I'd
I'd say that this is a positive since that rule has kept their product
from going to the deisel market in the past."
