Pete, I would be surprised if the formation was NOT sour. No big deal if it is sour. Question is.... HOW SOUR and HOW BIG. There are two big gas plants located in the Strachan area... Ram River (Husky Oil) and Strachan (Gulf). Both run better from a process point of view when the gas is sour... ideally around 25% H2S. The question is does the ensuing pipeline and facility costs make up for the find? ie: Is it an ECONOMIC find? or is it just a "find"? These deep, foothills type wells are typically targeting sour formations.
