Bill,

The inherent weakness of your argument lies in the fact that, using your examples, failures occur sporatically and in isolated areas wherein fallback systems are usually in place for implementing work-arounds.

However, come 2000, all systems lacking proper remediation are vulnerable to corruption or abendment. The work-arounds will also be vulnerable, whether they be electronic or physical since in every instance our economic systems will be impacted by 00 or 9/1999.

In isolated cases your logic would be quite correct. However, when EVERYONE is facing the same fast approaching immovable deadline, your arguments dissipate like so much noxious vapor on the wind. There are no "isolated" cases on Dec 31st, 1999.

Regards,

Ron
