Michael,

There are a few issues facings MSFT over the next year. One, as has been discussed before, is the DOJ, States, and International efforts aimed at hammering MSFT over IE4.0 and Win98.

Secondly, MSFT faces a possible lawsuit from NOVL(according to my tech buddies who hold MCSE quals) related to NT 5.0.

From the explanations I've heard, MSFT engineers blatantly absconded with some proprietary NOVL technology. We were discussing it the other day, however the discussion went over my head and I forgot to take proper notes. However, since these guys know both Novell and MSFT systems, as well as being beta-testers for NT 5.0, they didn't express any doubt about the similarities between the two functions and that Novell originated the idea.

I'll be speaking with them again tomorrow and will attempt to post a better description of the issue.

But what is not in doubt is that MSFT has made itself an attractive target for a lot of vested interests.

Regards,

Ron
