Bill, NT is more stable. It also causes more problems when you have to talk to tech support because so (relatively) fewer people use it. That will probably change in the next 12-18 months. But for now, you have to be ready for it.
From what I can gather, Cybertrader is ready to support NT. But be warned that lots of supporting services do not do it well. Example: I foolishly bought Turbo Tax, which ran on NT last year, and this year did not! I will not repeat in a public forum the words I used, but suffice it to say that I had to boot Win 95 to do my taxes on the &%$&%$%&&&&$%^$. (You think I'M a jerk, go deal with Intuit -- I guarantee you will mean that "I Like Spots" tagline by comparison. <G>)
For another example, I just finished a 5-week battle with my ISP because they had problems with the connection to a late version of NT I installed. We finally resolved it, but I had to do all internet access through an alternate for that time.
I have to run NT at present because I support NT products. I will be buying a new personal PC in the next few months myself, and I believe I will opt for NT in spite of the problems, exactly because of the stability (and greater control, I must add). But be warned that you will pay in other areas. I can give more examples if you can take 'em <G>.
