There are many things impeding the component makers right now. The following is a link to comments I made a while back in which I was specifically focused on Read-Rite and AMC.

But much of the things I say in that post has implications for the rest. Specifically the trend to fewer platters and heads in disk drives. (This means fewer flexures as well). This is going to dampen growth further.

Komag, specifically is having very serious problems today as they find that the sputtering systems they use (probably the single biggest line item on their list of capital equipment) is inadequate for production of the latest high end media. Thats why they are more then 50% idle in their Malaysian plant.
