ed, excellent point. the lowest to the middle class pay effectively 7.5-15% (depending on the labor supply demand dynamic - which is favorable to workers now so i'd expect closer to 15%) of their income in ss taxes on 100% of their income while the the steve forbeses of the world pay much less than 1% if anything at all.
