Ed, if the total depth (TD) of 4340 meters was the target zone, then they could not have already run logs to total depth. It would take them days to trip out of the hole with the drill pipe and then proceed with the logging tools. However, drill cuttings and gas shows could have shown something, just as the company indicated in its press release about the upper zones. However, the company said in its press release that "upon review of open hole logs...." so it has not yet conducted these.

You and Grayhair are correct in saying that IF it is a good looking well which has found a reservoir, more drill holes will be required to determine how big the reservoir is and if it should be developed.

The tight hole (TH) status was not, IMO, invoked because of logs or gas shows. TH status is invoked as a matter of course on any exploration well - regardless of outcome.
