Thanks Patrick. That's interesting. I try to remember the weighting thing. The MSH is equally weighted, BUT: it's only re-weighted on Dec. 19th. That means that it's out of whack right now, with stocks like YHOO and DELL providing more oomph. But with YHOO over 100 in price, the % moves are less when the stock moves 5 points, than with a lower priced stock moving 5 pts, like for instance CPQ. So the weighting thing is hard to really follow meaningfully with the MSH.

No doubt it's a powerful force with an un-equally weighted index like the S&Ps though.
