HiFi Low OEM price

From a source who talked to a Sony American rep- said that the OEM cost for HiFi will be cheaper than the price for OEM Zip and 1.44 floppy together.

This is a strong incentive for OEM's to go with HiFi. For one thing, it will be cheaper than Zip + floppy. Another reason is that they don't have to alter the architecture of some boxes that only have 2 slots. One slot is already by default, CD. The other slot is up for grabs. HiFi addresses this need beautifully, where you don't lose compatibility by dumping the 1.44 dedicated floppy drive.

BTW, loving the market today. Sitting on cash and my SEEK short (apart from my core holdings). So much for the Iomaniac's predictions over the weekend that SEEK would go up today.
