ASND at $10B+ is pretty expensive. Yeah Gary, that's what I see as the problem. If we look at the players that would be willing to make an acqusition of this magnitude most (perhaps all?) have an ATM product line. LU, NT, NN, CSCO...they're all pretty well set. I think? These 4 appear to be the big players with perhaps CPQ/DEC and INTC making networking their next target. This leaves ASND in the un-enviable position of being a niche player in a quickly converging market. That's why I think they need to fill out their portfolio in order to lift themselves into this upper tier of competitors. I think and ASND/BAY merger would do that. Question though: why would only a "CSCO-guy" make such a statement?" OG
