Fanman, OT OT A little something on Lucent. I am down to three stocks, options, LEAPS, bonds, and a good amount of cash. Might stay with the cash for a while to back up the option plays. Market doesn't feel right. It reacts too much to any bad news.

** LUCENT TECHNOLOGIES (LU: 70-11/16, - 2-11/16) said it had
agreed to acquire YURIE SYSTEMS INC. (YURI: 34-11/16, + 3-3/16), a
leading maker of data, voice and video networking equipment, for
$35 cash per share, or a total of about $1 billion. Lucent, a
manufacturer of telecommunications systems, software and products,
said the deal would result in an unspecified charge against its
earnings in the fiscal third quarter and would be slightly
dilutive to earnings in the first full year of operations after
the deal was completed. |
