Hi RIK,
Sorry. You don't have to accept it RIK. No one said you must. And, I really must clarify that the RUMOUR of Swan Hills gas with no underlying water is just that, A STREET RUMOUR IN CALGARY.
BUT I DO ACCEPT THAT RUMOUR AS "LIKELY BEING TRUE" VERY SIMPLY BECAUSE THAT SCENARIO IS ONE IN WHICH A COMPANY WOULD RUN PIPE TO ~14,000 FEET WITHOUT RUNNING A DST. (Yes, that means I am speculating not investing and I know that. But, I also "speculate" when I ante up my $50K or $100K to participate in the drilling of a shallow well. And funny enough, Some work! Some don't!)
Also, it was not my broker(s) that "watched" the casing hauled on to the drilling location. And, it was not my broker(s) that "did not see any DST services drive on to the location" (although I'd betcha some pretty big $$ that he\she\they didn't either)!!.
Now, we did not hang around to see them physically run all of the casing in the hole, but I very, very much doubt that Apache would incur the expense of buying casing (casing for sour service (expensive!!), at that) and hauling it to the location unless they were going to run it. I don't think they would do that just "to confuse the scouts", but that is JUST MY GUESS!!.
With respect to a level playing field, it won't ever happen. Not all shareholders can spend the time or dollars to scout the big wells themselves. (I can't\won't spend the $ to do it either, but Lord knows I got the time, the interest and hopefully (after 30 years in the patch) the ability for those big wells that are relatively close to Calgary!!)
I just wish we could do something about the playing field for all those mining companies, and the pharmaceuticals, and the banks, and the media and communications, and the pulp and papers, and.... (I do have trouble scouting those industries from here and I also lack the ability!!).
