I checked MRK puts here in Germany. You pay 2.32DM for 1 put (WKN number 913255, issued by Schweiz.Bankverein) , which comes to cca 1.35US$. Looks OK, actually rather daring, at delta ~-44%.

The only problem I see is the ratio 1:10. Seems like you would need 10 stocks to enjoy the full protection. I can offer you 50% of my MRK portfolio. Or would you go for both?

PS: D..., old quotes, the puts are already at 2.64, which means more than 1.50$. You better hurry, before the whole portfolio melts away.
