Jesus also talked about the rights of ALL people, including women and slaves. During that Time period, liberal would not be a strong enough word for that kind of philosophy. Talking about Love and compassion during those times was a radical and brave thing to do. It would definitely be considered far left as a philosophy. Turn the other cheek and the meek shall inherit the earth are certainly liberal philosophies. Toss in , the least of you can do what I can do and more(sorry for paraphrasing) and you have a radical bleeding heart.
Is your view of God one who is a stern disciplinarian, who rules with an iron fist? Or is it one who came to us to show us how to live and love with peace and prosperity for all people? Which view is yours Chris? Answer that question, but remember this, How you interpret things, paints a portrait of your soul. How do you interpret god, Chris?
