dd, I just saw the movie "Lost In Space" and got nausea it was so bad...
I mean everything was B-A-D. The story, the script, the cast, the effects, everything. BAD. And you know what? The WORSE PART OF THE MOVIE WAS SGI'S LATEST -IN YOUR FACE- ATTEMPT TO ADVERTISE THEIR WARES.
In case you haven't seen this bomb yet, don't. Aside from being mugged for your money you'll also have the unsolicited pleasure of witnessing the world's first 3D Reality Engine wristwatch, complete with Silicon Graphics nameplate, logo and marketing jingle, cleverly buried in the script so not to come-off like the blatant -PAYOLA- it is!!!
Geeze, you gotta wonder who is SGI thinking they are fooling? Don't they realize this "Hollywood Wizbang" image of themselves they pay -big bucks- to project is the very stigma they need to shed????????? That is, if they wish to -grow- the company out of the present high-end 3D niche they presently dominate to tears.
OK. I'll cut them some slack this time around and figure "Lost In Space" was in the can -BEFORE- Mr. Belluzzo & Co. arrived on the scene. Hopefully, the new team will wake-up SGI to the other 99% of the marketplace they need to promote products to.
On that note I swear to you right now dd, if I see one more of these -schlock- SGI advertisements in another special effects movie -good or bad- I'm gonna relocate my camp (Ringo, camels and all!) to Mountain View and takeover SGI marketing operations myself. ":^)
